Human Presence Sensor
User Insights & Application Scenarios:
Traditional Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors face several limitations in human presence detection. They can only detect motion and are unable to sense stationary individuals, making them inadequate for scenarios requiring continuous monitoring, such as elderly care or smart home environments.
Additionally, PIR sensors have a limited detection range, especially for radial movement, and are prone to interference from environmental factors such as temperature and lighting, often resulting in false positives or missed detections.
Furthermore, PIR sensors lack partition management capabilities, making it difficult to implement fine-grained and responsive device linkage control.
mmWave Radar for Human Presence Sensor:
mmWave radar addresses the shortcomings of traditional PIR sensors by reliably detecting stationary human presence. With its high-precision sensing capabilities, mmWave radar can accurately detect human presence even when the individual is not moving, enabling continuous and reliable monitoring. Moreover, the mmWave radar solution supports partition management, allowing the space to be divided into multiple zones based on room layout or usage requirements. Each zone can be independently monitored for human presence and associated with specific device actions. For example, in a smart home scenario, when a person is detected in the living room area, the system can automatically turn on the lights and air conditioning; when the person leaves, the system turns off those devices—achieving intelligent automation and improved energy efficiency.
